Super 21 Blackjack Rules
In Super 21 Blackjack, two cards are dealt to you face up while the dealer also receives two cards (one face down followed by one face up). Similar to other forms of blackjack, the goal is to get a hand better than that of the dealers that is as close to/or equal to 21 points without going over 21 points.
Several of the same rules found in traditional blackjack also apply in Super 21 Blackjack. A "Blackjack" for instance, is a result of a hand that totals 21 points using the value of two (2) cards. Usually, a 10 point value card (10, J, Q, K) combined with an ACE would equal a Blackjack. A result of 21 points using more than two (2) cards is not considered a blackjack.
Mutli-Hand vs. Sinlgle Hand - Super 21 is a single-hand only blackjack game where splitting is allowed.
Doubling - You can double at any time after your first two cards. Doubling is permitted on hands that have been split.
Splitting - In Super 21 blackjack you can split any two cards of equal value. If you decide to split your cards, you are obliged to place an additional bet equal to your original bet on the split hand. Each hand is then played separately as you would play any other hand with the exception of splitting ACES You can continue to hit for each hand, unless the split was made for a pair of Aces, in which case you can only hit once for each hand. You can play up to three hands at once.
Splitting ACES - Splitting aces allows the player to receive only one additional card for each ACE. You cannot hit again once the additional card has been dealt.
Surrendering - A unique feature available to players of Super 21 blackjack is the "Surrender" option. You can surrender your hand at any time and receive half of your current bet. You may also surrender a hand after it has been split.
How the Dealer Plays
- Dealer Hits on any hard total of 16 or less
- Dealer Stands on any hard total of 17 or more
- Dealer Hits on any soft total of 17 or less
- Dealer Stands on any soft total of 18 or more
- Dealer busts on any total over 21
Insurance
Insurance is offered when the dealer is dealt an ACE card face up. It is considered an additional bet on the dealer having a Blackjack. Purchasing insurance will cost you half the amount of your original bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer does in fact have a Blackjack. If he does not have it, the house keeps the insurance bet. Insurance can be viewed as a way to protect your bet.
